Technical Visit – Predjama Castle & Škocjan Caves

Discover the Slovenian Karst region. The first stop is the UNESCO listed Skocjan Caves, one of the largest and most fascinating Karstic sites in Europe with the Reka River running 200m below the surface.

Next stop in one of the local taverns for lunch.

After lunch head back and make a stop at idillyc village of Predjama where you will be amazed by our fairy tale medieval Predjama castle with dramatic setting in the gaping mouth of a cavern halfway up a hillside. Learn about the legend of Erasmus – ‘Slovenian Robin Hood’ and return back to Ljubljana in the afternoon.

EXAMPLE ITINERARY:

8:30-9:30: Transfer to Karst region
10:00 – 12:00: Skocjan Caves guided visit
12:30 – 13:30: Lunch time
14:15 – 15:15: Predjama Castle visit
15:30 – 16:30: Transfer back to Ljubljana and END OF THE TOUR

Dress:
Please note that the temperature in the caves is approximately 8 degrees Celsius. Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes!
